My Thoughts Going In:

Another tale of time traveling in order to prevent tragedy, but in this case it seems there is going to be more of a focus on getting stronger, rather than utilizing strategy. On the plus side for this MC, he’s primarily trying to save one girl. Not his parents, friends, loved one, etc.

Still, the art style looks cool and this guy’s determination to keep going, no matter what, is the kind of block headed anime spunk that I look for in these kinda shows from a male lead. Given that we have two series dealing with time manipulation of some sort, it will be interesting to see how they differ.

First Impressions

This show likes boobs. That’s the first thing I can tell ya, up front and for real, after watching roughly half of its premise episode. That, in and of itself, is the kind of thing that could either be amusing or annoying in an anime. I’ve been consuming series in this medium for decades. A pair of big knockers is not going to make or break a show for me. But when they get used over. And over. And over… Like they are the thing’s only true punchline? That’s a ‘no’, my friend.

This would be annoying enough on its own, within the context that it was presented. But the overall story seems like it is an utterly convoluted mess. Our MC has been seeing this girl in daydreams and suddenly, the world he’s seeing her in gets real when it’s time 2,000? O-kay… I’ll buy into that. Not.

I’m usually a fan of a delinquent protagonist, but this guy seemed like a modern re-imagining of Kuwabara from Yu Yu Hakusho. And while I really like that anyone, let’s keep it real here. I don’t watch it for Kuwabara. I tolerate Kuwabara because I like everyone else. He actually kinda annoys me.

So, this one’s gonna be a drop. Don’t let my decission instantly be yours. If the premise and art style intrigue you, spend the twenty minutes to see if you fare better. But there are a ton of interesting releases coming out this summer, and this is the first thing I’ve tried that 100% did not gel. So, I’m okay with it. This show is a no for me.
